TCS Signs Agreement With Taiwan's Allion to Provide Location Solution ...

TCS' Xypoint SUPL Server conforms to the standard for Internet Protocol (IP)-based A-GPS location as defined by the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA). Specifically, the Xypoint SUPL Server supports the OMA SUPL 1.0 standard to enable innovative location applications such as navigation and fleet tracking. TCS software and services help network operators differentiate their service offerings and create new revenue opportunities. Allion is relying on the TCS Xypoint SUPL Server to initially deliver Location-Based Services in Taiwan and then will expand to offer a variety of precise location services via UMTS throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

"This contract win marks our first SUPL in-network deployment in the Asia-Pacific region," said Timothy Lorello, Chief Marketing Officer of TCS. "TCS continues to demonstrate innovation and market leadership in developing and delivering the location-based solutions subscribers demand while opening up new lines of revenue streams for our customers.

Kennel to keep dog awaiting his fate

Rolo the German shepherd will be able to stay pro bono at an Arvada kennel while his owner awaits trial in a case that could free the dog or cost him his life.

Arvada assistant presiding judge Mike Graber on Monday agreed to a deal to allow Rolo to stay at Arvada Action Kennels after kennel owner Linda Vaughn assured him she would be responsible for making sure the dog doesn't escape.

Rolo's owner, Laura Hagan, got into trouble this summer when Rolo got loose and bit a neighbor. Kathy Hardin said the dog was about to bite her baby, so she screamed and turned, suffering a bad bite and nerve damage.

Hagan says Rolo bit Hardin because he was startled by the scream and that the dog had never bitten anyone before.

Pooch Walkers sniffs out niche in pet care

Jennifer Moore and her canine companions recently walked and sniffed their way around Whitney Park in sub-zero temperatures for their daily walk.

Moore is a pet caregiver for about 30 clients around Central Minnesota. Her business, Pooch Walkers, has boomed since opening last year, she said.

She'll walk dogs, bathe them, take them to the vet, take their pictures and even throw pooch birthday parties — complete with dog treats, party hats and photos.

"I try to make the owner's life as easy as possible and spoil the dogs as much as possible," said Moore, a St. Cloud resident.

Pet owners such as Vi Bergquist are more than willing to pay for a $10 backyard waste cleanup or $15 for a bath.

Bergquist of St. Cloud has two dogs, Pucci, 18, and Minnie, 10, who she sometimes leaves in Moore's care while at long meetings or if she has to go out of town because of work.
