I know some dogs have an affinity for beer. Mine's no different. Just smelling the open bottleneck is like a little bit of heaven for him. But the other night I was sitting watching politics with a glass of white wine (which is one of the best ways to watch politics), and there he was, sniffing like there was no tomorrow. So, I dipped my finger into the wine and put it by his nose, thinking the alcohol smell would back him up. But noooooooooooo, he started licking my finger as though it was covered in barbeque sauce! Now I can't keep the little derelict away from my glass. .
Nick Clegg interview transcript...
I would want to actually quite, quite the reverse, I'd want to dramatically change the list of spending priorities. JON SOPEL: No, no, I put the total NICK CLEGG: No. No well the, the total, what I'm trying to say to you is that I think the key thing is how do you re-order the priorities within the total amounts available at the moment. I for instance have set out an ambition that I want to see the party, the Liberal Democrats, reallocate about twenty billion pounds worth of spending, government spending, on to key priorities. So not wasted on ID cards, but spend it on the poorest children. Not waste it on the Euro Fighter, defence project, but spend it on better health services. That is the debate which I think we're going to have between now and the next General Election. JON SOPEL: But why not position yourself as the tax cutting party, because it would seem that there is a wide open opportunity there.

Marcus Dove led Oklahoma State (15-12, 6-7 Big 12) with 15 points and 10 rebounds, his first double-double of the season and only his second time in double-figure scoring in nine games. Dove had three of the Cowboys' season-high 14 3-pointers. Eaton had 15 points and freshman James Anderson added 13 points in his first game off the bench for the Cowboys, who built on successive victories over ranked Kansas and Texas A&M, the Feb. 16 triumph over the Aggies ending a 19-game road losing streak.

Having seen the effects of diabetes up close and personal, Tim Avila set out to offer a healthier alternative to other sweeteners on the market and developed Zsweet, an all natural, zero-calorie sugar substitute."My father-in-law has type 1 diabetes and I have a lot of aunts and uncles who have type 2 [diabetes]," says Mr. Avila, creator and CEO of Ventana Health Inc., makers of Zsweet. "It's a situation that a lot of people can relate to, especially in the minority and Latino community."According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetes affects 7 percent of the population with Hispanics being in the highest risk group by ethnicity.Mr. Avila met a lot of resistance when he approached various big names in the food industry about developing an all natural sweetener. "I think that novelty and innovation becomes obvious when someone has already done it," says Mr.

Moti Nissani: Reflections on the Presidential Races of Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul (14 comments) That such an unabashed advocate of predatory capitalism as Dr. Ron Paul can successfully appeal to humanitarians speaks volumes for the sad, dysfunctional, state of American democracy and of the ideological chaos that afflicts the progressive camp. Wednesday, January 16: Mary MacElveen: A letter sent to DNC Chair, Howard Dean on behalf of Gravel and Kucinich (12 comments) We the people deserve to hear from candidates like former Senator Mike Gravel and Congressman Dennis Kucinich. Our founders would be ashamed not only at you, your party, the Republican Party, but they would be spinning in their graves seeing a media abridge free speech. Jane and Mena Stillwater: Desperate (voting) Housewives: No matter who wins in 2008, women get screwed! (5 comments) Okay.
